Ok so I have replaced the idler pulley and the tensioner pulley on my LS1 Camaro and this squeak will NOT go away. When I replaced the serp belt it went away.. but a week later it came back (after the belt stretched out I guess) So I have got to fix it.. but what else could it be. It sounds like metal on metal type of squeak. It varies with RPM… it’s horrible!!!! I know it’s a pulley just because of how it went away when I replaced the belt. I am sick of buying parts thinking it will fix it… and then it does nothing.
What should I do?

I have had that same prob. I haven't been able to fix it permenantley even after changeing those same parts but I have found that if i crank the car and let a bar of hand soap ride on the groves of the belt for a few second the squeal will go away for a day. Before I started "soaping" my belt it seemed to squeal more after long periods of rain and belt dressing makes it WAY worse. I figure it has alot to do with my leaky power steering pump getting crap on the belt, But thats another complaint.

yes there is a bulltin #00-06-01-008 these are the part #'s 12563326 Double Row Idler Pulley Assembly, 12563327 Generator Bracket, 12562626 Serpentine Belt.
the bulltin states that idler pully is misaligned with crackshaft pully. these is suspose to be the fix. i have never tried it i don't know if it works good luck

I chased the same noise for a week. Checked the power steering, tensioner, idler, found it to be the alternator.

Word, Thanks. I'll look for it.
