piston/valve clearance question
Ok, new cam is on the way - 231/237 .598/.595 112 + 2. Heads are LS6 castings, milled .010. Stock valves. Am I going to have to be concerned with PtoV clearance?
If so - any tips on claying to check PtoV?
Thanks

Its hard to say because you can't just look at the specs and immediatley "know." There are other factors also.
A G5X2 (which is slightly bigger than that) will barely clear with unmilled heads.

Re: piston/valve clearance question
I personally don't think that you will have a problem...but of course the only way to be sure is to check...I have my heads milled .040, running a cam with 525 lift with 1.8 rockers which comes out to approximatelly 555 of lift. With 2.02 and 1.6 valves, and I still had over .110 of clearance...kinda a pain to check but don't worry about it...I would check it just for more information about what setups will work....I'm sure there are a lot of inquiring minds that would like to know. :p

Re: piston/valve clearance question
it will take you around 2 hours to check 2 cylenders and degree in your cam its worth the time you should have .080+ on the intake and .100+ on the exhaust and yes duration is killer if you dont do it you can change high performance parts in to high performance junk
