I plan on doing heads/cam(Texas Speed) ,fast 90/90, and a 12 bolt (moser) for around 5g. hopefully should get me anywhere in the 450-500 at the wheels, then I'll probably be needing a clutch, doing all the work myself aside of the tune.

If you plan on big power it will. Might as well forge it now so you can use the parts that can be reused, instead of waiting on it to break and trash tons of stuff in the process.

I bought this car for 4g's the clock reads 160k but the seller claimed it was its 2nd engine with 80k on it.. The engine does have some stock# writing in yellow on it as if it was a junkyard engine.. But also when I first start it up it puts out a quick puff of slight white smoke..

Just a good set off flat tops and prefferably some h beam rods. Roughly 1200 dollars for rods and pistons.

Some dd and to the strip.. I personally dont care about the comfortness of dd .. As long as it idles at a stop light Im ready to rock then.. I have other cars to drive daily..I want to replace majority of everything.. ls6 ported oilpump ,double roller timing chain ,headers, intake(not sure which fits in my budget?)clutch.. along thse lines.. Also i would try to buy as much used bolt ons from the classifieds here to save here and there..

The white smoke is probably caused by oil in the intake. A catch can will solve that problem.

I was thinking about the vengenance vinidicator cam and the trick flow heads to go with it .. Forge the bottom and spray the hell out of it.. Sound good and doable for 5g's? Maybe not the Nitrous kit but everything else?

Well, $5k to sink into the motor.

That's a tough one.

If you rebuild the motor (forge and whatever) and given that the crank isn't wornout or needs work you can make it go faster.

I would think almost $5k in parts without the spray though.

Just got it back from the machine shop today. Still have to gap my rings and button it up. Then swap my parts over and install. I'm sure it's not gonna be a dyno queen, and I'm not a ricer, so dyno numbers won't matter. We'll see what kind of TIMES I run. With a 4L80e and a 9", the dyno won't tell the tale like the track will I'm sure.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you do it under 4k??? Was it a salvage block or something?
