Question Thinking about ETP 215cc Heads...Opinions?

I am thinking about purchasing some ETP 215cc Heads with a custom grind cam. I was wondering what experiences people have had with them? Any people out there that run these? What kind of numbers are you producing? Are they worth the money in your opinion?

Thanks ahead of time for your opinions/experiences.

James

How much lift are you going to go? Looks like they will flow between 312-320 in the 550-600 range, I ran 10's on the motor with a 210 cc head that didn't flow that much with a solid roller and 13-1.

I'd say they are 600 hp capable.

Thanks for the reply Chris!

I am not very fluent on cam specifications, but I am wanting a mid-size lift that has great "under the curve" power. I am hoping I can find a very street-friendly setup...

I definitely love the sound of a "choppy" idle...but I know I can make better power with a less aggressive cam, and keep my driveability ...

Any other opinions/experiences?

I used a set of the 225 cc heads on my cousin's M6 "Vette" with excellent results. We were running a larger cam than what you would probably want, 302/302 240/240 @.050" dur. .578"/.578" lift on a 112* advanced 4 degree's (this cam was designed for the future twin turbo LS2). We were running a FAST 90mm intake with a home ported LS2 TB, MSD coil's, Jessel SS 1.7 rocker's, SLP 1 3/4" headers, Kooks 3" X-pipe w/cats, and a TPIS cat back exhaust. It dyno'd 445 RWHP and 406 RWTQ with a 80% ECM tune and one bad MSD coil (we we not sure how much this hurt us). My cousin popped the motor (broke a connecting rod-6,000 rpm clutch drop equals bad things, don't ask me why he thought doing this was a good idea) before he could get it back to be final tuned as it was his daily driver. However before he grenaded the motor it ran very, very strong while playing with it on the street. He walked away from a 03'-04' Cobra like he was sitting still he said and had a n2o equipt LT1 F-body try to play with him, but didn't even last through 2nd gear with him. I am sold on the heads, and hope that you decide to use them. I would say that a cam along the lines of 228/232 @ .050" duration with a 113+4 would work quite well for everyday driving. I credit the great street tune that Ed @ Automotive Technologies performed on my cousin's "Vette" for the stock like driveability that he had!!!

Thanks for the information! I have been researching these heads for a while now, and they seem like the way to go. I was debating between these, and AFR's ... but I am 100% sure that I will be going with ETP's now. I have seen these heads once in action and it was VERY impressive.

Any other people?

Hi firebirdman469,

ETP 215 are a component of my combo.

I am sharing my path through the modifications in the long (96 posts) thread below:

Let me know if you need any specific info you don't find inside the thread.
