fast 90/90 gains
Ok so i go tho the track, hoping for that magical 11 second pass and what happenes?... a 12.04 at 114.7 mph, youve gotto be kidding me, so close yet just no satisfaction of an 11 second car. Sure it shifts at 6400 when the peak rpm is 6600 and it should shift at 6800, which prolly looses a tenth but, On a warm summer day, i think the 11's will be an wish to the car gods. How much horsepower do people who put on a fast 90/90 usually get and on the track what kindof gains do you see? Any help from somone with a fast 90/90 (Or nick williams 90 tb) would be greatly appreciated.

I got 13hp but I only have a hotcam. But I tell you I picked up some power down low and up top. I got my fast ported by a member on the board for cheap and had it back in 3 days. He ports the runners and a little material on the ports. Altogether I put down 406hp and 378tq with a retune from straightline on saturday. I used a UMI TB from byunspeed and it is a really trick piece. I am satisfied with it.

too little info.... as far as 60 foot, tire type, and pressure
Yes a 90/90 will gain, on ave about 10-15 hp and some cars with the proper supporting mods could upward of 20-25. Which should get you over the hump.
BUT then again who knows, maybe some suspension tweaking and tire swap can do the same thing.

Waitaminit - you still on your stock ls1 manifold? I just upgraded from my stock ls1 to an unported FAST90 and the improvement is awesome. Don't need dyno numbers to back up a sh**-eating grin.

why not just get some prostars and some good tires. You would have almost the same amount of money in the 90/90 as the rims and tires, and the rims and tires would give you the best bang for the buck.

i picked up 20 rwhp with my home ported fast 90/90 setup.I would have picked up more if i had a cam with more then 570 lift also.It def needs to be ported to make it worth doing in my opinion.I did a write up a few months ago with pics and dynograph and everything if you want to try it yourself.

Geez, gotta love the porting snobs.
He's on the LS1 manifold now - it's a BIG improvement unported.
Personally, I'd stick with just port matching it unless you are going to have Tony work it over for you. Wouldn't want to end up with a port running worse than the untouched version....
Just do the regular version for now. I promise you'll defecate masonry.

with your mph, it should be an 11 second pass. I would get a really good video to see if you are dead hooking. With a stock motor, cats and y-pipe I run 12.2x @110 with 1.59-1.6x 60foots. Elevation and weather make a huge difference of course.

well true u also havd a 4000 stall.... thats a nnnnasty 60 foot tho man. I dont wanna break anything, Id be happy with like a high 1.6X 60 foot and an 11.70 at 118 with the fast 9090 ported and an underdrive pulley... i dont thinks thats too unreasonable...
