Should I go with a head and cam package or a cam only? and what does everyone recommend?? It is an 02' 6spd SS with 410 gears headers and true duals and went 7.80 in the eigth. with only a 1.80 60ft. will run better!! Want it Fast!!!

If ur on a budget, its been proven that a cam only ms4,ms3 can get u to run 11s. u need the additional bolt ons and parts to go along. If u want to pump all the power u can out of stock cubes, afr heads, a medium cam, fast intake, blah blah blah. The real question is how fast do u want to go and how much u willin to spend.

Mine is also a 6 speed with the same mods as yours and I'll go for cam only first. It's up to your budget, but anyway if you are limited on cash I'd go for a custom cam that would fit your car now and future mods, need to speak with Patrick, very helpful.

if you have some miles on the motor you should get new lifters with the new cam. to change the lifters you need to take off the heads. if the old heads are off why not put on new heads. while the oil pump is off why not put on a new one.... etc... etc...

I have 59k miles, and I talked to TSP about there head and cam package and it sounds like a pretty good price!! Any one else have this same package? It's the magic stick cam and I think patriot heads. I'm gonna add a f.a.s.t intake and tb also.

depends on how high your gonna rev. i'm not revving much past 6k so i felt the TSP budget heads were great. about $900. i should have upgraded springs to possibly patriot gold. they come with ls6. sure more expensive porting gains some cfm flow but unless your a hardcore racer how much do you need on a street car. TSP claimed my heads flow 307 cfm intake and about 215 exhaust at 600 lift. stock heads ls1 about 245 and stock ls6 heads about 270. just my 2 cents. i went too small on cam stock 2002 ls6. dont make that mistake!

It all comes down to money. If you can afford to do both right now do it. You'll reduce the amount of rework needed if you were to go with heads down the road.

With your 4.10 gears i say go with a larger cam. It really depends on how you want the car to drive. I dont mind the driveability of my ms4 and its on a 110lsa. It only surges below 1400rpms and it is not bad at all. But unless you want to flycut your pistons you cant do a ms4 and the stage 2 heads. Call tsp and talk to them and tell what you goals are and your budget.
