Head & cam swap day 1-5 w/video
Got the exhaust off including manifolds, intake manifold, water pump, power steering pump...I need more bandaids! man there's a lot of sharp edges on these things.
I took lots of pictures and will post them later, when I'm done wrenching or out of parts!

I couldn't help it, I kept wrenching until about 11:15 when my wife called and asked if I was sleeping in the shop?
well I got the driver's side head off and with only 10k miles on the motor the honing marks in the cylnder walls are very noticable. One hole has a few scuff marks and it sure looked like it was running rich, but then again the last 30 minutes of run time was just idling in and out of the shop.

Good luck with everything. Are you putting the headders in from the top while you have the heads off? I don't know if its possible or not, but I would think it would make things easier. Just for some reassurance, when I did mine everything was much easier AND quicker than I thought it would be, and I was by myself for everything, including removing the radiator. Get some help for that if you can, but if you've got a week to work on it you'll have lots of time left to tinker.
You'll have quite the suprise coming when you get it all together. I did mine one piece at a time and was suprised after every mod. I can't imagine having it all at once, especially with gears too. You're in for a treat!!

Ok, cam is in and we're gonna measure P to V pretty soon. I sent my bro to get a new seal for the front engine housing.
So far, other than every little thing being a PITA and my hands being cut up from all the sharp edges, everything is going well. Hopefully we have it running by Wednesday or Thursday and then dive into the rear gears. My new PCM from wait4me should be on its way tomorrow. Jesse said he was finishing it up today.
My biggest concer is getting all of the vacuum lines and little fasteners all back inplace so it looks OEM, except for the headers which I do plan on sneaking in through the op while the heads are off.
I've got a ton of pictures, but no time to upload them so when it's done and my hands heal I'll post em up.
I also took pictures of the OEM cam next to the F14...OMG, the ramps are day and night difference!!

I've got more free time now that I can't figure out how to get my valves to clear my pistons This too shall pass. Perhaps a nice baby 224/224 cam will work well at 11:1 with 2.02" intakes.
I'll make some phone calls in the morning and try and figure out if we're doing something wrong or they really wont clear.

I figured it was something like clay when you stated you were going to try PTV clearance. Even though your at a slight problem, how has everything else been going so far for you?

Here's the F14 cam next to my OEM
I'm wondering if something like a 228/228 will clear. That shouls still make some great power with the good heads and a bump in the compression.

Not sure, where did you get your heads from? If anything contact TSP and tell them the specs of your heads, and see if they got any cams you can work with.
