You're going to have to flycut. You're not going to safely have the correct amount of PTV clearance. If you went with stock valves you might be able to, but they mill their heads a certain amount for cleanup. You'd have to check with an adjustable pushrod and checker springs.

243's are 64cc anyway, 1cc smaller than stock Fbody heads. Patriot also cleans them up 1cc down to 63cc. You're going to need to flycut for the T-Rex, clearances are borderline acceptable with the 65cc chamber. If you got anything other than stock valves, don't even think about it.

i new it would be close so i order the heads with stock valves. i live in a small town so if i need to fly cut im just going to go with a smallr cam, the cam is in the car now and it runs great! stock heads!!! Do you have to pull the motor to fly cut????

use a smaller cam anyways, the motor will be more efficent and run better IMO. then ptv won't be such and issue. but you will still need to check though.

check it first. i have done alot of h/c swaps, and i can't honestly tell you if you will need to fly cut (very probable), but with the clearance that you will probably have with that combo, you would be wise to do so.

Just call Gunnar at Patriot. Explain to him that you want heads that are completely undecked. He uses new castings so it shouldn't be a problem.
With stock gaskets on stock valves, it should clear (maybe not safe but clear)
That cam needs to be degreed.

You don't have to pull the motor to flycut. You can rent the tool or buy the bits and use one of your old heads. Then you could use any gasket you want, increase the compresion, tighten up the quench and make even more power...

I think there's a sticky on flycutting.
