Took me 3 weeks on my first set of heads, 4 months on my 2nd set of heads, and 6 weeks on my third set of heads. ARE was the slowest, IRS in houston was the fastest. It all has to do with how busy and backlogged they are....bigger companies in higher demand sometimes have longer waits.
Also, I've renamed your thread. Topics need to represent the subject matter a bit more so people know if they should click to open the thread or not. "4 Months!!!" could be anything and it'd waste a lot of peoples time by clicking on a topic they can't contribute to.

Took me just under 3 weeks from TEA... was faster than expected so I hadda scramble to get extra cash.
Though I ordered mine late last year towards the end of racing season... and it was also just as TEA was becoming very popular

People need to chill out and need to be patient. Heads are not the easiest things to put together. They take time and like Mayfeild said, it will depend on how much work load the machine shop is doing. Machine shops do have other obligations to do other then just 1 set of heads.

Machine Shops need to be more upfront with turn-around time also. I ordered my heads back in march as well and still have not received them. I understand about workload and such but if the wait is going to be 12+ weeks then tell me that when I place my order. I don't mind waiting but I hate having to call once a week to find out what the current status is. It makes me impatient and it makes the shop look bad. Tell me that there is a 12 week turn-around and if they are done in 8 that is an error in the shops favor...don't tell me 8 weeks and then it turns into 12+ that is an error against the shop.
Supposedly my stuff is in the mail but I don't have tracking numbers yet so we shall see.

It has also been super hard to get parts to put stuff together. With the popularity of the LS1 stuff people like Comp Cams and others are on backorder Machine shops don`t know it is going to take so long to get stuff from them when you order. We try to keep most stuff in stock but it goes quick and than we have to wait on manufactures. Sorry for the wait, but power comes at a price.

A couple months here but I was warned ahead of time that it would be this long. I was always able to speak with JPR if I had any questions while I was waiting as well. I thought it was cool to be able to talk directly with the porter.
