Check LS1howto.com they list all the parts you need. You can get them from SDPC or GMPartsDirect.com I plan on doing the pcv conversion when I do my intake swap.

Thunder Racing has a conversion kit. It's alittle pricey IMO. I just hooked a catch can up inline with the PCV line.

I did it, I burn slightly less oil, maybe 1/2 quart every 2500 miles and I don't ping uncontrollably anymore. But I did a bunch of mods and who knows which is responsible for that. I believe the valley was 60 bucks from SPDC and I just used fuel hose for the the PCV. It's very easy if you don't have to cut your block, I had to cut it and I would still do the mod. Removing all those damn PCV lines was worth it alone.

If you are going to add boost you'll need to upgrade the pcv system. It puts alot more pressure on the crankcase. In some cases guys are popping the dipstick out under higher boost. Anything is going to help.

What valley cover corresponds to the iron blocks or are they unique?

I run LS6 setup on my 370 iron. The trick to fully benefit from it is to run the proper LS6 PCV valve. If not and running LS1 valve it will not do its function properly and will be less effective.

Maybe I should have been slightly clearer. By your response I'm guessing the LS1 style valley cover comes on the iron blocks and that you can use the LS6 on them.

Thank you very much, looks pretty eazy, I guess with my set up (Supercharged) procharged i would connect that LS6 valley cover port to my existing AMW catch can and then down to the Procharger inlet hat, With this set up i do not run the PCV valve,

If i am wrong please let me know

Right , but thats not a forced induction set up, otherwise boost would be pushed into the valve cover and why in that picture is the valve cover port still conected to the throttle body??? does'nt make sense.

True, it's not a FI setup. I think you need a one way valve in there that I don't have.

For non-FI the air goes into the block from the throttle body to the passenger front cover. It gets pulled out of the Z06 valley pan by the intake vacuum.

I did the LS6 valley cover and it didn't help at all. Still got just as much oil in the intake as before. I say skip it and get a catch can.
