Need Help with a noise that has been driving me nuts
Alright ever since my heads and cam swap i have been chasing what sounds like a bad belt squeak, so i took off the belt and it was still there, i pulled the balancer and it was still there. it seems to be about half the speed of the motor, like if the motor is turning 2k than the squeal is around 900-1k rpms.
it's RPM adjusted but when i first start the truck in the morning it's there BAD and then once it warms up for about 20 minutes it goes away until i come to a set speed for awhile like on the freeway it creeps back to were i can hear it over the radio.
I hope it's not what i think it is

My fingers are crossed for waterpump!! I don't think there are copper parts in our water pumps though. I have had an undiagnosed mild squeak that just started 12K ago. Worse at start up and frequently goes away away at warmup. Gotten no worse in the 12K!!! Go figure! I just can't pinpoint!! You have done a lot of work (more than me) and it sounds like you are getting close to figuring out. I hope it's not internal but the copper shavings are something to look into.
