Final cam decision - Poll
Cam choices are:
MT1 X1
TR224 - 114
TR230/224 - 111
TR227/224 - 114
Car gets cruised mainly around town but sometimes gets driven on long road trips 500+ miles. Sees the track maybe 3-4 times a year. Want some lope, but want it to be completely driveable and not have to worry about it dying out. Will most likely be bringing it to Speed Inc. to get tuned after installation.
What are your guys thoughts?
Also, based on what the car runs now, what do you think the new times will be after cam change? I want to be comfortably into the 11's. Is this possible with just the cam change to one of these relativley "smaller" camshafts?
Once again, thanks for your guys input.

can't go wrong. choppy idle, with near stock driveability.

Instead of making another post, with this cam, can you guys help me with other things that go along with the installation?
What length push rods?
What Springs can I go with?
Car has 100K
Should I replace the oil pump even if it does have great oil pressure now?
Should I pull the heads and replace the lifters even though there is no sign of concern?

I plan on swapping my pump with the ported ls6. I have 100k as well and also showing good oil pressure. When are you going to do this cam swap, I'm looking for the exact same things you are and I'm curious on your results.

"Reverse Split" - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars . Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended.

So, 1.8 rockers are stock I'm guessing?
