Default Good new and bad news...

Well the police found my lost '02 WS6 A4, but i never ever excepted to see my WS6 again, so on Autotrader i found a 2002 Camaro SS A4 with 2009 GM Certified miles on it!!!! Now the sad part is i don't want to keep both cars so i'm selling my WS6 with ALL my speed parts in the car. I know a few feel think i should take the stage 1 heads off and put on stockers, but there are some killer heads these days i'm not gonna take the heads off....The fun part is going be starting over again and build up my new SS. I did some searching on this site and most seem to like the PPR/TSP Terminator heads and the Stage 1 TSP LS6 heads. Since i like a lot of tq. i'm leaning towards the Terminators...I want to hear from the guys running these heads, i wanna see how good as a all around head they are. The cam i'm getting is uncertain yet but i like the TR224 114lsa cam and i'm looking into a custom 115lsa version of the 222/228 cam incase i decide to bolt my Procharger kit. Please give me any feedback on your experiences. Thx

Probobly because he doesn't want to work on some nasy daily driven junk. Thats why I bought a low mile car. Tosto's car only had 2300 miles on it when he built it, I think it now has 2400

On the cam, I'd do the TR224 with some TFS heads. I had that cam in my old setup with some AS heads and it ran great and drove like stock.

I'm not sure what your statement on the first line means?? What nasty driven junk you referring too?
I want to build a little stronger setup for the SS, but from doing all these searches i'm finding it hard find a setup that performed like my WS6's
small setup. I see cars running my full weight and 1/4 mile times but they are running bigger heads with bigger runners and cam, huge headers, and a over priced ported Fast intake and 90mm TB. I ran the TR224 in my '99 SS M6
mildly ported 853 gm heads, and i ran it in my '02 WS6 with my current stage 1 stock valved 241 castings and i like it. The car ran 12.0's with stock 3.23 rear, then i installed my Vig 3600 and the car went 11.7's. That's the kind of setup i want for the SS, small heads, a cam no larger than TR224 and with all the usual bolt on's. But i don't want the change the intake to a FAst and 90mm TB, don't think it's worth it on a small setup. To this day when i take people for a ride in my car they can't believe i only have a 216/220 cam and stage 1 heads. They think i'm running stage 2 heads with a TR224 or bigger.
I wish i could get my stock heads ported by the guy that did my WS6 heads but he no longer is in business. Well i'll keep researching.

How good of condition was yor WS6 when it was recovered? How long was it gone for? I would ask if it was in a chase, but if it was it was prob wrecked LOL

if you want a strong combo look through the dyno section and notice the combinations of the guys that hit 500+rwhp on a N/A 346. you will generally notice three things: 1. they all have a Fast 90 on them. 2. they all use higher end (read: more expensive) heads (AFR, ETP, etc) 3. they all have decent sized cams. Not going to see many people running 500rwhp on a 220 cam

Personally I'm going to try to manage a high 10 with some heads, ported Fast 90, and the cam I have in it now, which is somewhat small for that goal. Lets see what happens

Was it JPR who did the old heads?

Back from the dead!!! Yes the heads were stage 1 JPR 241's. And the WS6 was in good shape when it was found. I had bad tires on the car, so what probably happened was the front tires went flat they just left the car on the street and ran..lol. They didn't do any damage to it. But 3 months before the car was found I saw the 2002 SS A4 on AutoTrader so I bought it. It was a red SS with no t-tops so it had a real solid ride and no t-top creeking. But JPR did a great job on the heads. He only just clean off the casting flash in the runners, but he blended and reshaped the valve guide, and cleaned up the combustion chamber. They only flowed about 260cc to 265cc on the intake, but they worked really well. A good match with my Comp. 216/220 .525/.532 114lsa cam
