Default Please Help Nobody Has Replied To My Post All Day!!

Ok to make a long story short i blew up my 98 z28 camaro had to have the whole bottom end replaced stock cost me 2000 i think i got ripped on that not sure though. anyway the guy took me egr stuff off and i read somewhere that it will make my check engine light come on but it was already on no catalytic converters anyway i read that if the check engine light is on then my fans will always stay on. well they dont but i am not sure if they work because i have never witnessed them being on. also the guy that fixed my car told me that he knew it was messed up because when it was idiling the oil pressure was falling under 40lbs well it still falls under 40lbs when it gets to operating temp and idiling. should i be worried

Well u can have someone delete the codes for the egr. When your driving down the road what does your oil pressure read?

ur main concern is the oil pressure then and not the fan issue or the cats, right?

If that is including labor, those prices aren't that bad. Your fans shouldn't stay on. And your oil pressure is average about 40. My 99 normally idling at about 30-35 which isn't bad. If your at 20 or something like that then I would start to really worry. A typical head and cam swap labor only is about $1250 average. If you paid $2000 total, then your in good shape. Just really depends on where they got the short-block from. If your worried about that check engine light, get it tuned out. Plus you'll pick up some more power while your at it.

10 psi minimum for 1000rpm is good...and an LS1 is always above that

Your oil pressure is going to fluctuate a good bit between RPM's and temperatures. I have an LS6 oil pump on my car and it idles at 42 (winter) runs down the road at about 50-55.
