Today Sucks the BIG ONE!
, so next step was to totaly tear down the motor to have the new bearing put in, then what do I find next...#3 rod is bent
, Man life sucks. The motor came out of a 2000 Camaro SS with 50,000 so I was told, also was told motor ran perfect. Oh well atleast I know what I got know! good things may come from this, just wait.
Pulled the motor down and its a 2 bolt main instead of 4, oval passenger car heads with 2.08 valves which are very small for a big block and cast pistons , stock rods and cast crank.
The good side is I got a 6.0 lq9 with very little time on it from a freindly machine shop for a helll of a lot cheaper then I could have built the big block for.
It sucks to hear none the less

A friend of mine gave me a couple of his rods to replace my bent one. Just running low on the funds to go all forged, and my wife is sick of me spending money on this car. Dropped block, crank and rotating assembly of to a local shop to get an estimate on fixing my problem. I was able to get the guy that sold me the motor to pay for half of the repair cost eventhough he really didn't want to. He told me he has been in this business for 30 years and never once went back to the seller to ask for help with repairs on a bad motor he bought.
It was on my '00 GTP. i chipped the #3 piston (KR cause) and replaced with a "low mile" engine from a local yard. Put it in with new headgaskets and she started right up. Drove it a day and went to work one day. Got there and sounded like it was ticking a little. Thought maybe it was in my head or i was being paranoid. Drove home that night and was about 3-4 miles from home and it was starting to knock HARDCORE. So i figured since i knew i was gonna have to pull the motor again anyway that i might as well keep going. Haha made it another mile MAYBE and she was making all kinds of noises and siezed, DEAD. i had my LS1m Palm scanner on it at the time and was getting spikes of 13+ degrees or knock retard at cruise at 1800 RPM's. Pulled it off the road and looked under it with my cell phone light and there was oil coming out from under. Pulled it to my house and looked under it and threw a rod through the oil pan, another through the block and the crank was TOAST. Checked the heads and they amazingly survived the melt down. So i went back and they refunded me my money and i rebuilt the original engine. New owner hasn't had a problem with it since he bought it 2 years ago and i'm sure it's over 200k miles now. Man i feel your pain
