Default Yella Terra dyno'd

Finally made it to the dyno.Tune was not excactly the same since I pulled 2 degree's of timing out of WOT for the hot weather but ended up gaining 1hp and lost 5lbs of torque.
The car felt stronger on the street after install but showed nothing on the dyno.
Atleast I have a piece of mind that the rockers are stronger

I don't know what kind of cam you have, but larger ones will definately benefit more from yella's

I'd have to agree with Terry on this one. If the Yella Terra's are the same ratio as stock why would you see a hp increase?

1. They are lighter
2. they are roller tipped which allows them to move much easier

The stock rockers flex. The stock rockers are 1.68:1. Under high spring loads, the stock rockers act more like 1.62-1.65 ratio if I recall correctly. The YT's I believe are 1.71:1 and flex less under stiff springs.

The tip is also roller, if that matters much (I'm no engine friction expert).

Do the rockers add power? I dunno. I don't have them so I can't say. Can they hurt? Certainly not. I'm sure they have less failure rate than the stock rockers, with bearing-spill technology.

I am doing the TR224-563-112 with stock heads, but I bought the YTs more for the piece of mind than anything else. If they give me a little bit of power, great--if they dont break and spill bearings, even better!

Nice numbers
You need an ASP crank pulley to free up some hp. You won't be disappointed in the least

Great choice of cars BTW

Another thing about Yella Terra's is they reduce valve train noise. Even with my TR224, I have absolutely zero sewing-machine sound; valve train sounds stock! But the main reason I got them is so I wouldn't have to worry about throwing needle bearings.

Less friction, less flex always means more HP. It might not show up on a dyno, but you can't argue physics. How can you argue the piece of mind of keeping your valvetrain together with these rockers.

Call me crazy but if you can't notice the gain on a dyno how can one argue they make more HP?

In my opinion, you need at least a 10-15 HP increase to feel anything by the seat of your pants. If that dyno run is accurate and you only had a 1HP increase, theres NO way you could feel a difference on the street.

A lot of times when people upgrade something you want there to be an improvement and your brain tricks you into believing there is an improvement.

I believe the Yella Terras are a worthy mod to do, but not for HP gains. So, as you said, its good you have them for the additional strength, but I have a hard time believing you can actually feel an improvement on the street.

Yeh, I agree with most of what is said here. I got the terra's and they work great.

Question: Did you guys see the new REDUCED price of ADJUSTIBLE Jessel rockers in the SDPC catalog?

They are only $695 now!!!!!! I wish they were priced this way when I did my H/C swap.
