Idle quality of a 110 LSA cam....
I have a 227/227 .599"/.599" cam ground on a 110 LSA. The idle is erratic, to say the least. Does anyone have a cam ground on a 110 LSA? What do you idle at? How much tuning did it take to get it to idle right? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have a 111 LSA in mine.. The set screw has been bumped up for idle and it's untuned. I can't rev it as it's not broken in yet.. Right click and save as..

Re: Idle quality of a 110 LSA cam....
Have a cam 228/228 @.050 580/580 110 LSA and it idled perfectly...just a tiny bit of lump but really nice.
Nothing like having nice tight lobe angles, particularly when you are going for bigger cams. Reels in the power band in to a usable spread. Not great for emissions though
The secret is in the tuning and having sufficient RPM at idle. Mine was set to 1000-1100 rpm.

well looking at your sig unless your hiding it, you got stock bore and stock heads??
i am not sure that the lsa is your prob... yeh that is going to give you a real lope but i think i would look at your lift... 599! wow i thought 581 was kinda maxing it out on a stock bore/head motor...
could be wronge but thats my.02

Re: Idle quality of a 110 LSA cam....
since you have a standard split it should idle fine. IF you had a big split like 10 degrees than you would get some ground rattlin loap.

Re: Idle quality of a 110 LSA cam....
I'm afraid idle quality is a bit subjective; anything 220 degrees duration and up with less than 116 degees LSA will not idle like the stock cam did. And the way the PCM is tunned will have a big bearing on it also. You could probably even make the stock cam lope if you slow down the idle enough. The only way you will ever know is to try the cam in questiou in YOUR car with YOUR tuning.
