Default Anybody with 5.3 heads milled .015 come on in....

Lookin for the biggest and best cam I can fit in her without having to flycut pistons. I was lookin at the TR230 but I think the lift is too much. I have an A4 with LS6 intake, Bauer TB, Ported MAF, MACs, cutout, ASP, and ST3800. I trap 113-115 now and would like to go over 118+

Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks, Stu

Futral sent me a 228/230 .573/.591 113 (need to double check lift) lift cam and swore up and down I would have no P/V issues. My heads are 5.3L milled .010 (Shhhh Stu).

Heres a little info on what I had to do.
LS6 Heads 2.02/1.60 shaved .030 and TR224 Cam
Had to cut atleast .020 for the intake valve to give minimul clearence.I ended up cutting .050 for the future.
So you CAN run the 230 Cam and have clearence, but if the valve floats at all there is a good chance of P/V problems.

About a week ago I emailed TEA a quesion about what I could use with my TR230 and get 11:1 without P/V problems. He said 1.5 5.3's milled @ .015. I'm going to call next week and talk to them about it.

.02 with my set up

I'd check P to V clearance with the 230 cam. My 224 XE-R was tighter than expected. While TEA only decked .015 off of the heads, the P to V was tighter than it should have been for .015 off. Best guess was someone had decked the heads before hand. Since I had a 224 cam in the end it didn't matter, I just got a little extra compression and so much the better.
