To add to the PTV drama, I only have .037 clearance on my intake and I dont lose sleep over it or anything.

yea and before you get on any body elses case about pvc, i never said it wasnt a problem, its not a BIG problem...

there have been many people who have posted info on here with personal experience with these particular cams...not every install is perfect, not every motor absolutely identical...some may have problems, some may not...

flycutting just doesnt seem like an option to me, i would rather buy new pistons then tamper with the original ones. thing is im not looking to do that much work with the motor. just the cam and everything i need for it to run right...

ya, you could say i have a free flowing exhaust. i just built open 3" pipes off the headers and cut and welded angles to make them even. i made hangers for them and clamped them on to my headers. this is just until i can afford exhaust. im selling my chopper to buy a cam(valve springs, timming chain, oil pump, push rod, exc.) and moser 9" w/4.11

SSstud, i hope you choose the t-rex because it is an amazing cam that when it turns on will snap your neck. either way, good luck and have fun with your car.

haha thanks...i see now that alota people are concerned with pvc, and rightfully so...but if its not stupid, lets just say both cams would never raise the issues of pvc...then may i ask what cam people would recommend?

i know i havent mentioned but this car is only driven in the summer on perfect days...im in college so its under the cover in the garage 75% of the time...when i do drive it, its not far. unless im going to the track and i live a lil less than an hour away from great lakes...when i go to work, 20 min drive into chicago...im not worried about drivabilty becuase the meere fact that i want a cam this big disregards that concept!

the more i think about it, the more i realize its to be a street/show car with a tad of strip...the kinda car you can drive out to the local hangout spot and everyone goes...dam i wish i drove an f body!!

Track, light to light occasions, etc.? Like you said both cams get great compliments, but what mods do those that praise them have. Because if you expect to be quick off the line with your factory gears, and no nitrous, then you might want another choice. If you just want a cam to say my cam is "Big", then either one will work for you.

from what i see, the trex is a great cam when you let her rip at the track. first time i went to the track, i posted a 13.1XX @105.XX, 1.9 60 ft. with intake, exhaust and worn out stock tires. had i gone all but a few more times, i could have easily broken into 12's...that would been nice. i guess withe the cam, gears, stall and tires of course im trying to break into low 12's, even 11's maybe? i donno sound realistic? ill probably be breaking the 10-bolt too!

i am running unflycut with stock 243. i really dont think you need to fly cut for the vindicator but you can ask Ron@vengeance he super easy to deal with. He is who put me on my path with my set up.

I'm in this same pickle. I want a big cam such as the Vindicator or the T-Rex, but i dont wanna fly-cut the pistons.
