Default 150k *Sadface*

Well, I just rolled over 150k miles on the old T/A and think it's probably time to start saving up for a new motor.

So far I'm thinking of building something along these lines.

Rebuild my LS1 and punch it out to 383 with the forged Eagle kit and Mahle pistons.

Stick some PRC Stage 2.5 5.3 heads on it.

Run an MS3

Valvetrain would include Morel lifters, Jesel Shaft Mount rocker arms, and PRC dual springs, and hardened pushrods of course.

Fast 90/90

LS2 Timing chain

Ported oil pump

Now TSP offers the ported LS3 heads, and GMPartsDirect or SDPC has the L76 intake, would those components run on an LS1 block? Or should I stick with what I have picked out? A reputable local shop would be doing all the work for me.

The intake valves on the LS3's are too big for anything smaller than a 4" bore. I'd stick with the ported 5.3's. I like that list, it looks like you're gonna be saving for a while.

Cool deal. The idea was to build a motor that will last under DD and track duty, so I wanted to put as many nice components into it as possible. The Performabuilt tranny is rated for 500hp, so I didn't want to go with a 408 and risk putting out too much power.... as lame as that may sound

Ahh.. That sounds familiar.. i have exacly 146222.2 on the counter when I pulled in tonight...Performabuilt Stage 2 and a 408 with a mild cam to come one day..Work is only 1/2 mile both ways so im not worried about gas..

I just cammed mine at 119k. My goal is to make it to 150k and then forge the bottom end and put on a good set of heads with a 200 shot...

Gotta love these motors man. I ran a 12.5 on just boltons and this cam feels like it will def put me in the 11's no doubt...
