SLP + Melling = Smelling.

j/k

I'm alway at 50 to 60 pounds on my stock oil pump.
When I do my cam swap, I'll probably go with a GM LS6 pump.

For you that don't know, there is no such thing as a LS6 pump. Both the LS1/LS6 are the same. I prefer the Melling 10296 if you do not have a double roller timing chain. If you have a double roller I suggest getting the Melling 10295 or a stock porter version.

That's where I got mine from, but you can get them at Advance Auto also and several other sponsors also sell them.

Why would you go with the 10295 for the double roller??

Because you will have to clearance the rear of the pump where the oil pickup tube connects to and you will have to mill the front of the pump about .120" and you will have to clearance the front cover in several areas to get it to work. Also you will have to get button head screws for the pump and the front pump cover to clear the front cover.

I have a ported ls6 oil pump right now with a double roller, but i spun a bearing awhile ago and my car has been sitting until i can get funds up to fix my motor. Would i need to replace the oil pump or i would i be able to clean it out?? If i could reuse it, does the ls6 ported move more fluid than the 10295??

I would not reuse any of the parts that are decently inexpensive to replace...
I.E.
#1 Oil Pump
#2 Oil Pickup Tube

You can go either way, but I would probably use the 10295 pump from Melling.
