Default TSB out on LS1 Lifters and Rockers....

I just found this out the other day. My friend works at a Chevy dealer and told me about it after we pulled my other friends motor apart to replace a broke lifter and also the cam that the lifter mangled.

Anyone know anymore about this?

Very few people replace or upgrade LS1 lifters even with a big cam. But rockers have a bad reputation for spewing needle bearings.

This is the needle bearings (issued 2002):

I didn't see a recent one for 1999 cars. You can check for your year at:

Look like the NHTSA (owner of 152.122.48.12) took this pdf offline. Hope everyone has a copy already. Maybe someone could put up a copy somewhere. If it was published by the NHTSA, it's public domain -- right???

brought my car in to the dealership for piston slap noise and the technician diagnosed that it was my lifters. so they will be changing lifters.
