Default whats the highest compression i can run?

i have a 1999 camaro ss that is my weekend toy. its a 6 speed with an f14 cam (not high lift), qtp long tubes, custom y-pipe and 4" cat back, pulley, meizer ewp, fast 90, nw 90mm tb, 85mm maf, 36lb injectors, cai, ALL the bolt ons and then some.
it has 241 heads that have been ported and 2.02 1.57 valves but the chambers have been releived so compression is about the same as stock. its an old port job (2001) so im sure im leaving some power on the table compaired with the modern programs out now.
my question is; what is the highest reasonable compression ratio i can run with a new set of heads using my current set up? the car is only used for fun and not a DD. i use only 94 octane in it. i would like to reuse my entire valve train since its pretty much new.
should i go with ls6 or 5.3's? what chamber size am i looking at for proper ptv clearance? what (if any) negative results should i expect?

I would expect that 11 or 11.5:1 would be reasonable. Very good for nitrous too!

I'm running 11.8. but the type of cam you run will also determine how much compression to can run as it will affect the dynamic compression.

by coincedence i was thinking of going with a cr around 11.8 to 12.1.
i would like to go up one whole point in compression ratio (ie from 10.9 to 11.9)
would i have to talk to to the cam manufacterer about figuring out the dynamic compression?

Maybe you should be asking what is the RIGHT amount of compression you need to run??

It is not always best to just run the most compression you can. Sometimes you will get better results from a little less....

what is the right amount of compression i should be running?

the main reason i have for wanting to bump up my compresssion is after all the modding and tuning i dont think the car is performing at its fullest potential and even though i know dyno numbers are not the end all performance measurer it has always dynoed less then other cars with about the same mods and the only thing i have left to do is switch to a speed density tune or bump the compression.
plus i like the idea of telling people im running a 11.80 or 12.1 compression ratio and then watching there eyes get big.

That is something that you need to discuss with someone that does this for a living. I noticed you have a Futral Cam. Call him and ask him what compression he recommends for that F14.
