I ordered my cam as a 230/232 110LSA it cam as a 231/233 111LSA
There are variances in machining there's no way around it. I'm actually surprised they come that close just running one part. No cam is going to be dead on as they spec it. It just doesn't happen.
Oh and I'm a machinist so I have a little background in this area if your wondering where I'm getting my info from.

I know of a shop on the east coast, that when they want a specific cam grind, they order 6 cams of the same grind.
Then they look to see which is the closest to the grind they ordered, then send the other 5 cams back.
The cam manufacture did not like this so they stated looking closer at the order specifications and sending out a cam closest to that spec.
Would not a good CNC machine and an operator who knows what he is doing those grinds would be exact?

With the amount that your talking about, its about about ten thousandths of an inch (for reference a piece of paper is 3 thousandths) If you had a good operator he could run several parts and get it very close, but just making one part no way. With the difference that your seeing you would never notice it anyway so why does it matter? The cam doctor is just to make sure they sent the right one not to see if its half a degree off.
