Def get better push rods and at least 918 springs, just incase you decide to want more.
As for the cam a z06 cam is great for FI, if the car is to stay NA I would recommend something like a TR 224/224 or bigger. even with the 224 there isnt much lope to it. Also Thunder Racing does sell the Cheater cam which is DEAD stock sounding.

If you already have the stall I would def without a doubt go with something a little bigger maybe a 224 or 228 cam. No need to go crazy.
Save your lunch money for 2 weeks and you can buy a cam package with a nice cam. LS6 isnt the best of cams

Personally, I think goin through all that work that installing a cam requires is gonna be worthless for an LS6 cam! That cam will give u no noticeable gain. My cousin installed it in his TA cuz he was being cheap and now wishes he woulda gotten a bigger cam cuz he sure had a hard time installing it himself!

You only need to line up the dots on the sprokets.
Let us know what you think about the LS6 cam when you get it in. Or at least me anyway
the cheater cam by Thunder Racing is also a great cam to use, I called thunder and that is what they suggested for MPG and a BROAD powerband, not a 6k+ rpm cam here is the specs on the cheater
Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft
"CheaTR" - 214/230 .601/.575 117 LSA. Off Idle-6800 RPM Power Band. Broad power range. Works well with stock exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Stock like idle. Minor tuning required on automatic transmission cars. Responds very well to nitrous. Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended. Double valve springs and titanium retainers required for this cam.
but with that high stall etc, it will be underkill for your setup

The LS6 cam is a good cam. The key is to rev it at least 6600 rpms. Years ago I bought a used 02 LS6 cam/springs for $150. Bone stock the car dyno'd 290 rwhp. It dyno'd 348 rwhp with an unlocked Yank 3200 converter and the following mods: LS6 cam/LS6 intake, MAC headers, bolt ons and the converter. The biggest gains were up top where the LS1 cam falls down. At 6600 rpms the LS6 setup was nearly flat to 342 rwhp. Look at a stock LS1 setup (even with bolt ons) and you can clearly see the big gain up top. The car ran 12.4 at 109 mph all day long in hot weather and drove exactly like stock with no tuning (even though it helps).
