Default How do I remove fuel line from fuel rails??

I am finaaly installing my ported Dart 205cc heads. I am also replacing the injectors. I have the intake off except for the one fuel line that goes to the fuel rails. The write up I have says to just remove the rails from the intake and let it hang. I would like to remove it.

I have the clip off and the rubber boot. Does it take a special tool or what.

Thanks,
Bill

Yes, it's a plasic ring that you insert inside the connector and it releases the line - be sure to release the pressure via the shraeder valve first.

Well maybe if you get a socket that fits around, but inside the sleeve, you can saw it into two semi circles, and jam it in there until you feel a click then pull the line out. That just sounds wrong...

I would just buy the fuel line tool, almost any parts store should have them.

Go buy the disconnect tools, they are cheap (usually $9.99 for a set of 5 or 7 depending on store) and they are very handy to have for a lot of cars.

Just a FYI they do sell them by size. The size you need is 5/16" Angled Fuel Line Disconnect. It was $3+ each.

Now to get those heads off.

Too bad....

I was curious as to how they worked out. I noticed in the past few months alot of questions had been popping up as to which tools worked the best, ect...ect...

you can pick up the fuel line remover tool at your local parts store. Ceap ones are under $10 but they usually break after a few uses. i bought a set of snap on ones and that are holding up pretty good.

I picked one up at O'Relly's for $3.99. It worked great.
