I just got the timing set and pulley. Do I need to modify the pulley for it to work. I remember reading something about this but I cant find the post. Thanks.

Might have read my post from a while ago. i recived a cam gear that wouldnt fit my cam. It seems that i was the only one it has ever happend to. just to be sure put the gear on your cam and the 2 faces should meet right together. sometimes it can be just the dowel pin on the cam is to big so some drill out the gear a bit.

I also had an issue with the dowel pin being too tight. just drilled it out slightly and it fit perfectly (I think it was a 1/4 inch bit). My pulley needed the machine work that was mentioned in another post. The stepped part that contacts the front seal was too long and contacted the oil pump. My pulley is about 4 years old and they may have changed the design since then. The work only cost $12 for the pulley and they did it while I waited.

Texas Speed and performance rollmaster is 94 and Scoggin dickey's is 85. TSP generally states it is heat-treated (all of it?) and SD states it has a heat treated Torrington bearing. Is there a difference? They are both Rollmaster's....

I installed a Rollmaster Double Roller Timing chain that I bought from Scoggins-Dickey, and an ASP pulley and had absolutely no clearance problems. I did not get the model with the torrington bearing.

I'm doing the same install right now. Joseph of Texas Speed gave me a good idea. He told me to test mount the ASP Pulley BEFORE installing the timing cover to see if the ASP pulley step contacts the oil pump body. Once the ASP pulley bucks up against the crank sprocket there has to be some clearance between the ASP pulley step and the oil pump body. If they touch you have to mill the step back further. It's worth the extra time to test mount the ASP pulley just to be on the safe side.

I have the double roller from SDPC with the torrington bearing. The chain fits perfect without any modifying to my ASP crank pulley. I guess everyone has diffrent experiences with the double roller and pulley but mine work great together! ![Cheers!!](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_cheers.gif)
