Default 226/232 .609”/.604” 111+2 work with Turbo?????

ok so i have been utterly unabl eto sell my turbokit.. and that got me wondering if installing the 226/232 .609”/.604” 111LSA +2 advance cam i have.. and slapping on some large chambered TPS 6.0L heads .. will that work with a turbo on a 2002 LS1?? at say 6-9 pounds of boost...??

I think your LSA is a little too tight for boost

Yeah to tight of a LSA and I have always thought you wanted more intake then exhaust for a boosted car.

It's not optimal but it will work. You'll be blowing air charge out of the exhaust valve with 6 degrees of overlap, but it's not too much to keep boost locked in. You'd certainly see gains swapping to a turbo cam over that one, but it will work for low boost.

its just that ive been trying to sell a turbo kit and nobody seem to bite.... so i just thought what the heck... ill just order some large chamber heads and keep it...

paint it black.. i see your cam is very simmilar to mine.. what kind of numbers are you producing and how does it feel in trafic?

It's certainly not too much overlap to run with the turbo. In fact, most of the really fast turbo guys run cams with overlap that is similar to NA cams (I'm talking the really fast turbo guys).

hey Mr. G. im glad you chimed in... you propably recognize the numbers as your own... how big chambers and how much boost with 95 octane... ?? i have a large air/air IC and could add waterspray above 5 pounds of boost... but i would be happy with 550-600 rwhp thru my A4 and 12 bolt

No numbers as of yet, the tuner's dyno broke on the first WOT pull, some fuse or something and that was on a friday he couldn't get one til monday, and I took my car home, haven't been back yet, but it's fine in traffic, a little lumpy, but WOW does this thing have some top end pull.. scares me how quick it accelerates sometimes. It's on a 112+2 with an lsk intake lobe, xe-r exhaust.

this one is Comp XFI/XFI lobes but i should propably stick with the cam and some good high compression heads.. i mean in a 3300 pound 79 malibu i could get into trouble soon enough without a turbo...

besides if it broke his dyno it must be a **** of a car LOL

now if somone will only trade a complete t70 turbo setup for a pair of TSP 5.3R's with parts, and a fast 92/92....

not sure what you consider really fast Patrick, but i know the cams we run in the fast turbo engines we build, plus the cams in the fast turbo engines that my buddy Steve Petty uses at proline dont look anything like an n/a cam,but then they have only been 6.50's on 10.5s at 3000lbs

For a turbo cam I would want at least a 115 lobe

That's a pretty broad generalization. Ask Mike Murillo how wide the LSA is on his Fox Body 10.5 car. It thumps pretty hard.
