Default Best head to compliment MTI X1 cam?

It's that simple. Well... Not really. Obviously I have the MTI X1 cam 230/227 in the .590/570 range.

Is it really worth it to spend $1640 shipped for TEA LS6 stage 2 heads, or go with the PRC 5.3's? What are other good options? I have researched sooo much I can't take it.

*TSP recommended me to mill the TSP's 5.3's down .020 and use the GM gaskets.

*TEA told me with my cam that PTV would be too tight (.050 or so) with there 1.5 5.3 head, and suggested their stage 2 LS6.

What are your opinions? Check mods in sig to base decisions! Thanks sooo much! I will be making this purchase in about a week or so.

im running the X1 also. i hear this cam will really shine with some 5.3 heads. dont know why u might have PTV issues. its not really a big cam. im curious to see how this cam will be with some patriot LS6 heads. there is a guy i think his name is midtown thats running LS6 heads with this X1 and i dont think he has issues...

if anything u might as well give MTI a call.. u might as run the guys heads who created this cam and work well. wilwaxu is running MTI 2E/X1 and is in the 10's...i think alot of people forget that MTI's heads are still proven products.

I told you TEAs but with 2.02/1.57 valves unmilled with stock gasket. That is more than .050 PTV

Or if TEA is not willing to co-operate with you, then PRC 5.3L stage 2.5

I have the X1 with the MTI S2e heads... my power output isn't very good, but it is because of my chinsy 2.5 y-pipe, which is soon to be replaced.

I went with the MTI heads because it is a proven matched combo... and because it was less guesswork.

I'm running 243's unmilled with .040" Cometic gaskets and X1 cam and it cleared and I've got the better quench from the thinner gasket. I still can't confirm from anyone what my compression ratio should be though, do you know?

u actually might as well give MTI a call. they are the ones that designed that cam, so u know their heads will work well. they have done butt loads off MTI 2E/X1 setups. just ask wilwaxu hes in the 10's with that setup. plus i think MTI is sellin the heads for alot cheaper too.

What Pred said or MTI heads, proven combo's with that cam. I researched the **** out of that cam and heads b/c that is what I was gonna go with but ended up going over to the dark side
