Default 383 Cam?

Im in the market for a new cam and im not sure as to what to get...So my set up is a 383 with heads cam and soon to be fast 90/90 combo...The cam i have now is peaking at about 6000 to 6200 RPMS and is netting me about 419 to the wheels....Its an older cam and i just really would like to try something a little up to date and that will spin a little more and still make power up top....Drivability is not much of an issues since i dont drive this car except for the weekends and to the track to race it....Also i am spraying nitrous on the car to and need something that will work good with that too....Any help will be appreciated

The cam is a lunati ground cam that MTI offered probably back in 2002 or so....Heads are stage IIE heads from MTI and the Compression level is about 10.9 to 1 and it is a six speed car that will more then likely be changed soon to an automatic...Gears are 4.10s.....Im not really sure what the specs are on the cam but i think that its around 232 237 598 595 on 114 LSA

I bet that 90/90 will help out alot. If I were you I would do the 90/90 first and see what that does for your current combo. If that's your plan let me know how it works out for you.

I'd say go for something in the 240's durations and around 600-620 lift would work out nice.

I would use something in the 236/242 range myself.

You can try something like this or call a few sponsors and see what they recommend which is what I'd do. If this is a weekend/strip car, I'd go big. If you DD or drive a lot, go moderate. Your TUNE is the key to getting the maximum out of your set up.

I am putting together an ET 245 headed 384 as I write this. Its got a FAST 92/92 combo and the cam is a 247/254 .657"/.622 110. I'll post power/torque numbers and track times when we get it finished...
