The PRC 5.3 is a good head and good deal, will go with that cam nicely. MTI just released new pricing on their ported heads and those would be another great option, TEA has 5.3's as well as ET.
If you wanted to spend more money and step into an after market head then you have AFR, ET, TFS, DART, Edelbrock.. all fine choices. With your cam no need to shave the heads, you should retain plenty of low end grunt with a 224 cam. LS6 intake is fine, or you can step up to a 90/90 or 92/92 as it is now.

I would go with the stqage 2.5 5.3s from TSP, they flow great and for about the money cant be beat. My cam is a 226/232 and I think I am going to try TSPs new 2.5R head which has a 2.055 intake valve for a little more flow. You wont find these on their site yet as Jason just finished them but you can contact him if you are interested.

The shorter intake runner on the 5.3L, as well as the smaller combustion chamber make the 5.3L the more popular choice for street use!

The 0.024 mill with the cometic will give better quench & produce a little more power. I did not want to deal with leaks, so I used a stock gasket & just milled them a little more. Runs fine on 93 octane.
