Default can't decide between 2 cams

i have a 230/224 TR cam right now, and from what i hear its a great cam, however i want to go with something a little bigger and with a little more lift for future upgrades. i was looking into the S cam from HPE and the MS 3 from TSP. both are very similar in size but i was wanting to see how the current owners of these cams feel about the DD capabilites. also what is the avg. rpm range these 2 cams peak at because they would be no use to me if they peak anywhere near 7k since i'm never up that high. also future mods include either stage 2 PRC or Patriot heads 5.3 and a Victor single plane or if the new Weiand ever comes out. this is all going on a 04 A4 GTO with a 3200 stall and full bolt-ons.

Well I've got a V.2 Torquer with the PRC 5.3L heads and I really like the power it makes; anything under 2500 is kind of crappy, but I guess that's what I get...nobody races under 2500 rpm for long anyway. As for the MS3 I've heard its a great cam, I don't know what it peaks at but I would assume somewhere around 62-6400 rpms, that is about where mine is at.

right now even with the stock cam my car doesn't seem to really wake up until the 3200-3500 area, so thats why i went searching for a stall between 3200-3600 and ended up getting a 3200 Vig. i can deal with a 6400 peak cause then i can just have the limiter set at 6800 or so, and i won't buzz that to often.

There's the page for the MS3; peaks at 6400 and makes power 2300-6800; thats a NICE range

ms3, Mine starts pulling hard around 3500, and pulls even harder until around 64-6500. you may want a little bigger converter to reap the benefits, but I dont know the specs of the other cam. No complaints here.

true man, u will need a bigger stall if your gonna maximize those big cams!! im running a vig 3200 with a 230/227 cam and it does drive good for a street car. but if i were you, i would just go ahead and invest in some heads. you will have a more stout street setup with the money on heads/cam rather than just big cam/stock heads. remember also these stock trannies dont like to be revved to the moon or it "MIGHT" give.

if u were to go with a bigger cam look into the vengeance VRX5 cam or even the vindicator if your goin that big.

no cam in any stockish ls1 engine will *peak @ 7krpm using the crossover style intake. regardless of BIG cam choice, the cam will peak 6,300-6,400 rpm - the bigger the cam, the longer it will hold peak power and the slower it will fall off. i've seen everything from a 224 cam to a t-rex peak @ 6,300 rpm..

i'd suggest at least a 4k converter for any cam over 233 intake duration.

Stick with the TR230, great cam for that stall and rpm you are looking at. HPEE and MS3 both need much higher reving. TR230 is one of the best around, good trq, good peak and good lope. It will take 100/150 juice with no issues.

i was told this before but how much do you think it will hurt me when i put the heads on by not having the full .600 lift for the heads? i'm not missing it by much with a .575 lift on the intake and a .563 on the exhaust but will it be enough to get enough out of the heads? the upside to this cam besides not having to by another one is PTV clearence isn't as close as with the MS3 or S cam.

No downside if you ask me unless you want a full drag setup. Street/strip it is a killer setup.
You could custom the specs with high lift lobes
like:
230/224 .612/.600 111+2 LSA
XFI/XFI comp cam lobes
