+1 on this.

I have a 402 short being built. Most of my parts from the 346 will be swapped over. The smaller haeds will hurt topend numbers, but low/mid torque should be amazing. A bunch of members already have done this. Numbers varied depending on cam etc etc
510/490 to the wheels are some of the results I remember.

If you went with that H/C, your intake would really be choking your setup. A FAST 90/92 will put down over 25 more hp to the wheels on that combo.

There are a lot of perspectives on "driveability" don't assume everyone means the same thing when they say it. To some, it's driveable if they can manage to get it down the street.
I never said it would "drive like stock". I never even said how drivable it would be at all! I DO know however, that adding some compression with a good set of heads will improve the drivability compared to the same setup with stock heads/compression, AND, that an idle below 1600 resulting in surge, is not tuned to potential. I have a buddy that runs an MS4, he daily drives it and his idle does NOT act as described. And further more, the poster of that says it was even in a six liter car, which as we all know, should make the cam a bit more tame than in a 346.

Again, noone claimed these statements! We all know that the bigger bumpsticks are gonna be tempermental when compared to the smaller cams, but this argument is about how someone is having idle surge anything below 1600 rpm, which isn't typical.

205. 225 are for big cubies

You could put the 225 on yoru 400 and it will give you great upper power, but you might have a lot of throttle lag at the begining.

the 205s on your 400 should be a rocket ship, with great and immediate throttle response. May not give you the bench racing high hp numbers, but who cares.
