OK heres the setup...
346 LS1
Currently Have Dart heads... they have been great heads and make pretty good power considering my baby cam.
216/220 .525/.532 114 LSA
I have a underdrive pulley
Mac Headers
Fast 90mm
Nick Williams 90mm throttle body
85mm MAF
85mm Lid
Borla cat back
I dynoed 365 rwhp through my 4l60E.
NEW SET UP
I am swappin to a T56 with a moser 9 inch with a 4.10 in a few weeks and plan to go with a considerably larger cam...
I'm think 236/230 .6??/ 6.?? lift 112 LSA???
I plan to install a new set of American Racing headers
New cat back
I am considering ET performance, AFR, Trick Flow, and Edelbrock.
I know I want smaller runners (i think) and I realize flow is important, especially not just at the top .600+ Still I am unsure which are better performers and exactly why?
I hope to make 450+ rwhp
475 would tickle me sh*#less

Those numbers are attainable but that 9" is going to eat some power. I did a max effort 347 with Mamo massaged AFR's matched 90 NW TB and my heavy drivetrain and got to 439..LOL Same formula Patrick used to get to 500 but he had a better Y pipe and the stock rear and didnt have heavy aftermarket 18" wheels either. Cam was a 238/240 113 lsa +3 I think. All 4 of those heads would do it, the AFR would need to be touched up by Tony I would think. The TFS and Edelbrocks are available, the ET's dont seem to be right now.
I was talking to someone this moring and he was telling me about a set of Edel 245's on a 346 making 480 and not loosing anything down low," made beans everywhere" is the quote and the TFS have been proven by Vengeance to hit the 500 mark so you have a few choices. The nice thing wbout the Edels is they will take you stock rocker and valve covers where the TFS need an aftermarket set and spacers iirc?

If you swap them, then AFR's. Like 99blancoSS, I have a set of Tony's massaged heads on my workbench right now that will replace my Dart 205's. Here's one other option, contact Bret Bauer who knows how to make the Darts really perform. This may be another option for you since you already have the heads.

Well...if your really on a budget and want flow as good if not better I would say....a pair of L92's, they are just as good as the AFR heads and can be had for cheap!

From what I have seen getting my heads hand ported will cost me more (with what i already have in them) than trick flows. How much will they cost? How many places are there? Do they CNC or Hand port? Any idea how well they perform? Also, I have heard of a lot of ported Dart heads smokin really bad (just ported ones)

As most of you guys know we've been working really hard recently to rework all of our cylinder heads to improve power, performance, and value! The LS6 head is the newest cylinder head to go through these revisions. All future LS6 heads will ship with all the new features at NO EXTRA COST!!!
We just finished up the newest revision of the PRC LS6 cylinder head! The new cylinder head features a new smaller intake runner (225cc), new bigger cfm exhaust port, & aftermarket rocker arm clearances!!
The new intake port was reshaped to provide the same great airflow you've come to expect from PRC with a smaller runner for increased velocity & throttle response!
Here's a few pics of the new ls6 intake port. The port in this pic goes 310cfm @ .650 lift!!
The Exhaust Port was also completely revised from top to bottom! The all new exhaust port flows as much as 10cfm more air than the previous port with the same valve size!
NOTICE IN THIS PIC THE ALL NEW AFTERMARKET ROCKER CLEARANCES & CUSTOM PRC ENGRAVING!!
Improved airflow, improved features, smaller runners all available at the current special price of $949.99 with stock springs!!!!

Yes we have both 799 & 243 castings in stock. I built the first set out of 799s just incase I killed one testing!! Everyonce in a while I'll screw up posting a file & kill a head. I killed a 5.3l a few weeks ago testing
I personally like the 799 castings, they clean up nicer than a 243 casting IMHO!
