224 is a very good track performer...my number are on true street tires wit 3.42 gear on my 10 bolt with a 2.1 60'ft time. With an auto and 4.10's on Dr's it could easily get you into the 11's. Go into the the 11 second club and you'll find severall people running 224 cam only cars in the 11s. On spray you should definitely be able to get 10's with a 224 cam only car if everything else is set-up right.

Search the 11 second club for 224 you'll see what I mean...and you'll even find some in the 10 sec club, they just won't be cam only unless they've really, really, lightened the car and had the absolutely perfect run, and even then I don't think it's possible.

If you really want cam only in the 10s, the car will have to be ultra-light and it will be zero fun on the street, you'll probably hate drving that car anywhere but the track.

BTW, I still have the stock TB and stock water pump, w/ those additional mods, I'd probaly be between 385-390...pretty close to 400hp.

Tough to say really, so much of street manners, under the curve torque, peak HP is determined by much more than the duration of the cam. Lift, LSA, and even lobe design all play a big part in where and how the power comes on the RPM band, not to mention the rest of the valvetrain.

That's why I went TR224 it's been proven by so many people on this board that I knew I wouldn't go wrong and the difference in peak HP in a 224/224 vs a 228/230 or even bigger cams is actualy quite low (5- 10 hp) and usually only a difference at the peak RPM like 5600 - 6600 rpm range so it wasn't worth giving up the street manners.

I mean even the fastest cam only cars are only making 415 or so at the wheels. And that car will not be streetable by most people's definitions.

Here, check this sticky in the Dyno section:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/219024-cam-only-dyno-thread.html

Also check with Patrick G or Predator-Z (I think he's the other cam guru) about a custom cam. They really know this stuff and can design the best cam for what you're looking for and you're eventual goals. But if you want off the shelf...ya just can't go wrong with TR224 and supporting mods.
