Default ls1 problems

Hi i have a 98, camaro ss with a cam and portd heads. It has been reving up on its own when i coast to a stop any where from 1500 to 2500 rpms and when driving down the road it cuts out. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what could be wrong. thank u Darrin

It is "surging" or "searching"... have you had the car tuned? My car did this after I swapped the T/B and intake, it was acting like it was re-learning all the different perimeters of air and adjusting the fuel.

vacume leak? Have you touch the throttle body adjustment scew? Any ses light?

Try changing the TPS sensor and make sure it is plug in.

sounds like a vacuum leak, mine did it after fast intake install, the map sensor fit a little loose on the rear of intake and came out while driving, check for vacuum leak.

If it was ok before I would start by looking for a vacuum leak somewhere around the intake to include all the vacuum hoses.

ya will be somthing to check i had it plugd in to a computer today and it said it had a miss fire but it wouldnt tell us witch one of the 8 it was it also seems like it is loading up and when it is just sitting there ideling and reving up by its self it makes the temp gauge go up. I dont no but it seems like one of the injectors is spraying to much or somthing what do u guys think.

oh and another thing is it only does it when it is warmd up and when i have drove it for a little bit but it doesnt do it all the time that is why i cant figure it out

im sure its the TPS my car is doing the same and it gave me a code for the TPS, change that bad boy and your all good to go!

my car is doing th same thing it's throwing the misfire code on the 7th cylinder as of today, 2001 LS1 with a 99 LS1 forged bottom end, ms4, LS6 STG 2.5's milled, 36lbz. injectors, 255 fuelpump, hooker 1-7/8 LT'S, TSP X-PIPE,4.10

yeah i was told today that a bad tune could of fowled the plugs, caused misfire and detination, now that it's tuned running on 7 cylinders i'm gonna change the plugs and wires then go from there, but if it still does it i'm gonna find another tuner for my G ride
