Re: PV clearance a prob with a 236/236 cam ? Depends on the LSA and ICL of the cam, but I'm willing to bet you'll have problems. If you decided to try that cam, MAKE SURE you check PTV clearances.

I finished my Heads/Cam swap last month, and let me tell you this: .30 cut off my 5.7 stageII heads, with my new cam (228/236.571.602) As I rotated the motor over to check P/V clearance, the exhaust valve smashed on the piston (DAMN) Sent those heads back to RMS, and we worked out a deal on 5.3 milled ONLY for straigtness (.0005) Again, installed those heads, rotated the motor over again to check P/V clearance, and sure enough, I had just enough clearance. Re: PV clearance a prob with a 236/236 cam ? Why do I keep hearing people talk about limited P to V clearance due big duration numbers? It's LIFT that causes clearance problems. You could run a 250/250 duration cam with .540 lift and never have a problem with P to V clearance...

It's not just the lift, but where and when ya put it that's important.

Mine's a perfect example of above. Cam- 239/251, .570"lift, 106 lsa. Installed straight up. Heads milled .055". Had to notch pistons .080" and .100"
int/exh for clearance.FWIW
