Default To sell the 02 WS6 or not?

Is it worth ir for me to sell my WS6 and get say an 05 or 06 GTO? Are the motors more reliable or easier to get more power out of? I love my car but I am just kind of thinkng of getting something newer. Would there be any advantages to getting the GTO? My WS6 info is in my sig...

My friend has an '06 GTO and it's a great car to drive. Interior is light years better IMO than the f-body, engine is similar, wouldn't say it's any easier/harder to get power. Granted, the extra few cubes allow you to put bigger cams in without as much of a concern for driveability. If I was to sell my car that is one of the first choices I'd have. They are popping up more and more for great prices. Are you bored with your WS6?

Not bored.. I do like it. I am just curious if It would be smarter to get the GTO because of the possibility of less insurance costs and like you said, a better interior. Is it more roomy in the back seats? I have a lot of money invested in my car so the next step on my mod list is either nice heads or some type of forced induction. I had nitrous for a while then sold that. I wouldnt mind a more comfortable car but I am curious if it is worth the extra money and taking the loss on my car after all I have paid off of it and the mods I have put into it. How many cubic inches is the 6.0? Around 360?

Its just an option I am thinking of. I do love my car but there is always something better out there. The WS6 is a pretty obvious car when its coming at you or behind you.

Gotcha. If you aren't bored with the f-body, I wouldn't give it up. You are going to get a biased answer here in my opinion. There is a lot of room in the back seat. I am 6'3 and can sit comfortably in the back if they are DDing and I'm stuck back there. Bearing in mind what you said, no I wouldn't do it. Just enjoy the f-body

I have put god only knows how many hours into my trans am on getting it how I want it but it seems like an endless battle lol. Stuff costs so much money, I need a new rear end if I am going to put more power to it. One way or another I need ported heads and if I d ported heads I need (well I need someones help to teach me) to flycut the pistons or else buy new rods and pistons that are cut at the same time and do all that together. I will probably just keep the stock rear end till it blows out.

I will have to see what I can do then. I didn't think it was possible. My car is loud as hell so my 4 month old may not like it lol. I do love the way it sounds when I get on the gas. If I got a new car it would just be a money pit to get it to where I have mine now I suppose, then lots of hours of labor on top of that. In that case, would I be best off getting some nice heads? Should I flycut the pistons or get new ones that have the valve reliefs in them already? There is so much more I can do yet. U/D pulley and fast 90/90, lighter forged rims to cut down on the rotating mass.. Would I be better off getting the Fast 90/90 or new heads first?

just put some better mufflers on it for a few months. when I bought mine the wife said "angel will hate being in that car" I would take her to phoenix, (2 hour ride for us) the sweet sound of the open downpipe and she was asleep in minutes.

I would keep the ws6 if it was my choice. The gto is a little yuppie boring for my tastes. But I guess it's all what you like. They are nice cars but the look is not my style.I think the ws6 is waaaay cooler.Get what makes you happy. You gotta please yourself.

Having had both (sort of - I had an 04 GTO on two year lease)...

The GTO is light years ahead in interior and ride comfort. Seats are way better.
Won't sound like a rattle trap.

You won't get the looks you do in the WS6, but the 05-06 GTOs are pretty decent looking and don't get nearly the cop attention a WS6 will...

The IRS has a little more trouble launching than the live axle.

T-tops - F-body only...if that matters...

Both motors as well all know are great.

You need to go car seat shopping. I have 2x car seats that fit in the back of my Camaro w/ no probs. Get a NARROW base car seat. usually one w/ a removable base plate that can be used either way will do the trick.

Yep, little bit of V8 vibration + soothing exhaust rumble is like valium for kids Mine last about 5 minutes max before fallng asleep and drooling all over themselves

In short....if you really want a nice interior...guess go for the GTO. The F-body is cheaper to mod, there's no IRS to deal with (that has it's own set of probs), etc. Besides, if you think you're working on your WS6 24/7....add forced induction.

My vote's to keep the bird.

There is no way that I would sell a WS6 for a GTO. My buddy had a GTO with the LS2. It was alright. Didnt like the way that it drove compared to my Camaro. Neither did he for that matter. He ended up selling the GTO after about 6 months of having it.

I am going to keep it and put different heads and suspension on it for a start.
