Exclamation stock main caps max power

i will be building an ls1 427, hoping to make 550 n/a and i might run a small shot of nitrous or a small amount of boost like 5 to 8, havent made up my mind, right now i have an 01 ls1 block, im gonna be using arp main studs, so i will be gettin my mains align honed, basicaly will my mains hold up or should i spend the money on some katech mains, dont realy wanna spend more that is necessary

These motors are 6 bolt mains, I feel as though aftermarket mains arent needed unless you will be making a ridiculous amount of power.

I see you listed a 01 LS1 block. If you use that, it will fail way before a cap will.

You will not have any issues as long as everything is properly machined. Now I see you are going to a 427. I am assuming you are going to have the block sleeved? You really want to make sure that is done properly or you will have some real issues. We have done quite a few sleeve jobs and have not had any issues. We do have one local customer with a 1998 LS1 Darton Sleeved to a 427CI and he drives this car on a regular basis for the past 4 years with no issues. If there is anything we can do to assist in your build, don't hesitate to let me know.

Thanks,
Leo
