EXTREMELY lost again
aite so i realized after looking at the cam card from my new cam that...actually here are the specs... .236/.242 .602/.612 111 + 2 lsa. what the hell is + 2? i know it concerns advancement but what does it do for me? i am getting the cam put in in 3 weeks because i have no time to put it in and i want to make sure that i understand what it is and make sure i tell the guy putting it in for me what i want. Please someone clarify this for me! i want to understand! LOL

Same here the cam should always be installed with a timing tool and if it has built in timing the it should go in straight up. I had a dumbass shop in here install a friends cam in a GTO with 4 deg timing in it after the motor blew found out he retared 4 deg WTF! Thats why the car went from 367 to 310 hp

It will help you out by bringing your peak power down 100 or so rpms, It kinda shifts your power curve down....not less power it just brings it on sooner.
By doin that the people that put the cam in dont have to manually set it up two degrees advanced during installation. I believe you would also want to have an adjustable timing chain set.
In short its much easier to install because you just have to line the dots up on the two gears that the timing chain runs on.

There is a difference between "straight up" and "dot to dot"
Straight up means ICL same as LSA (no advance in the grind.
Dot to dot, means dots lining up on cam gear and cranck gear and cam (theoreticaly) should be at ground ICL. ICL = LSA minus advance or in this case 111 LSA - (+2 advance) = 111-2 = 109 ICL
Cams should be degreed, since the cam ground is not exactly as cam card and if those specs want to be achieved the cam needs to be adjusted by degreing it.
