Mild Cam Setup
I'm looking for a mild cam setup, one that doesn't need heads, and only a mild build up. What can I do for about 500 bucks that will hold a 75 shot on occaision? Very streetable, I'm looking for around 375 horses or so before the bottle. Thanks in advance.

I'm president of the TR220 fan club on stock head cars. You can run the stock programming easily on your M6 and with headers you can expect 360 to 380rwhp. I picked mine up used in the classifieds for around $250.

500 boucks will buy ya a cam and springs.
For what you want, I recommend the cam I use, a TR220 or TR224.
Actually, MTI is having a clearance on B1 & T1 cams, check it out in the sponsor forum.

Re: Mild Cam Setup
They come in the "thunder cam package" I'd go with the 918's and thunder's stock length hardened pushrods. Along with that and headers I made 380rwhp on the stock tune.

Re: Mild Cam Setup
I've ordered the cam, springs and pushrods, the headers will be here in 3 weeks when I get paid. I want to do a dynomouth exhaust, what size should I use? Will this setup be ready to handle a 75 shot? I want to be able to make a stock SS cry but be a little careful with the motor, it's got 42k on it. Would anyone recomend any other small things to keep me from breaking anything?

With bolt-ons, FLP LT's, and Futral Motorsports FM4 cam 226/226 .575/.575 112lsa I'm right at 385RWHP. That's without LS1tuning and with a slight problem with my throttle cable...too much slack in it, the TB is only open about 90-95% at WOT.

You might want to check into gettin a clutch next. Right after I added my cam, the stock one bit the dust. I have a spec stage III ceramic now and it has impressed the hell out of me.

Re: Mild Cam Setup
42k isnt that many miles...the motor should still be putting down the same as when it was new. I've got 45k and the motor is as good as new. You'll be happy w/ the TR220. Nice cam. But one day, you'll want more...we always do

Re: Mild Cam Setup
42 is just getting broke in. We disasembled a LS1 with 66k on the motor and the bearings looked brand new. If you spray any more than the 75 shot you will need to up grade the fuel pump and injectors and put some rod bolts in. But the setup you got going is perfect. Maybe a LS6 intake for that little extra.
