You could look for used aftermarket heads or Texas Speed has a good deal on ported ls6 heads and they would package that with a cam for you and be within your budget leaving you money for a tune and some inexpensive LT's

since your car is a 2000, you will need an LS6 intake! Heads and cam=way to go!

a4 or m6? either way, some long tubes, tires, and n2o will do the trick. maybe even have some money left over for a cam swap.

$2K total. LT headers, a cutout (that Flowmaster may sound wonderful...but it's not helping make power), and a cam/springs kit. That + tuning will run about 2K. That should add 50-70HP, depending what cam you go with.

It's the little things that add up (gaskets, bolts, coolant, oil + filter, etc.) Don't think it's possible to add heads too and stay w/in budget....unless you're buying everything used. Another option, though a bit more is the TR CheaTR cam package w/ AFR heads. Nice power + keeps the stock manifolds. Always an option........as you can add the headers later when $$ permits.

start with long tubes. Thats the first thing. Then you can get a cam. For 2000 dollars getting a H/C package and long tubes is cheap, and it wont be the best stuff.

It seems kind of redundant to replace the cam and not the heads, when you have the money, since you have to replace the valve springs and retainers anyway. Call TSP and ask them about there LS6 heads and cam kits. They can give you all the info you need. Remember to plan for future modifications.

You should probably buy a stall before heads, especially if you want to put a cam in it and you are on a budget, a decent cam necessitates a stall.

If all you have is a lid, I'd do a good set of LT's and a cat-back exhaust. Look at Kooks or QTP LT's (don't forget the y-pipe and cats) and Magnaflow, Corsa or Hooker cat-backs.

If you have any money left over pick up an underdrive pulley.

Good luck.

1. full intake/exhuast
a. LS6 intake $300
b. ported TB $70-80
c. lt's $350-800+
d. cat back $350+
e. y-pipe/x-pipe ?
2. torque converter (at least $650)

3. cam/springs/PR's/oil pump, etc (check sponsors for packages) around $700-800

4. tune $250+

That's $300K +

I think all bolt ons and a stall would be a great start and is in your price range, and you'll be in the 12's all day long. Save some more money later and buy a cam and tires and say hi to 11's.

Or... just spray it.

Tq converter, Headers, and a Cam. Depening on what converter you go with, you should be in the 11's.

meh not to me i had a 4k and dumped it for a t56 baby .

If i were you 2 grand would buy me a cam and full exhaust. $400 cam $700 headers $300 y pipe $550 catback thats $1950 but going high on the numbers like stainless headers and such, id rather budget to much than not enough. but if you do plan on stalling go stall over cam. Full bolt ons 4k stall and street tires got me to 12.38 and i was running high 13's stock...you do the math bro...

ohh and i cant believe that thing ran 108 with just a lid and a blowmaster. congrats on some level of a factory freak auto.

i say you start with the headers... don't get cheap headers like my pacesetters... unless your not planning to keep your car that long get some nice 1 3/4" headers and get a LS6 or FAST intake... then save another 2K and get a cam and tune it after

1.) CONVERTER 2.) Cam & valve springs 3.) Longtubes 4.) Tune... I'm assuming you already have drag radials or something to hook with.
