Street sweeper, is a REALLY good cam.
I'm not sure about people saying it needs the best parts to make good power. I dont think thats true at all. I've personal installed a few of all styles of the street sweeper. In everything frommild: stock heads, pacesetters, non FAST, stock TB/maf setup fbodies. All made over 400whp 380wtq. But a 98 auto that was like 380-390 whp.
The smaller 228/232 SS/HT in a c5 with ok mods (setup with alot of room to grow) 215 ETs, stock TB/maf, with cats, z06 catback made 456whp, but a killer 421 wtq.
Super buget was hand ported 241s stock valves, and valve job. SS cam, fast78, stock maf,slp lid, ARH. Thu a SLP 2otL and a S60 put down 455whp 410whp

Its not a small cam, and DD with it is all up to what you think. What are you looking for?

Personally I'm going with a T3 cam and PRC LS6 stg 2.5 heads on my daily....I haven't done all that much research, but from what I have seen it's not a bad setup.

There's a LOT of truth to that.

One thing you need to watch with the torquer v3 is springs. Mine toasted 3 prc duals so far, might want to go a lil beefier on springs. It has a lot of lift. I love the cam, but it is a bit aggressive on lift.

I have never heard of the street sweeper before, but i know the Torquer series cams are proven performers. Don't go by what everyone tells you sounds good, because the specs are higher. Go with the true performer, whether it be the torquer or the street sweeper. Last thing you want is to go through hell installing the cam only to be disappointed.

Definately go with the streetsweeper. I have heard good things about it. The reason I am telling you to stay away from the T3 is that my friend has a 98 camaro with the torquer 3 in it, and first off, it has NO power down low. Oh, and its a stalled auto. All his power is 5k+. Oh, and it does not match the name of "torquer." His car only put down 343 rwtq at 5k rpms. My bone stock gto can beat him in the 1/8th just because he has NO power under the curve.

Your buddy has a problem with somthing. Maybe the tune or he might need gears. My car rapes LS2 GTOs with full bolt ons and I have run a H/C LS2 GTO and he never got more than a fender on me. I only made 404 rwhp and 374rwtq but the combo works great. I run 3.73s in the rear but I think 3.90s would be the sweet spot for this cam.

He's got other issues...My car pulls very hard from 2k up to 6500rpm.
