Pulling Motor: Top or Bottom (which is best for my situation)
Ok, so after pulling the oil pan, it looks like the bearings went on the first two cylinders (I mean the two closest to front of motor not #1 and #2). I am just going to pull the motor and see whats going on in there.
If I were starting from scratch I would probably pull it from the bottom however, I have almost all of the accessories off, and I am thinking at this point it might as well just come out the top.
Here is where it stands:
Airbox, Lid, MAF, -off
Waterpump-off
Power steering pump-off
Alternator & Bracket-off
AC condenser & Bracket off (but hoses still connected)
Motor Mounts-out
K-Frame Bolts-out
Oil Pan & Deflector-off
Steering Rack-disconnected
I have a engine hoist, what do you guys vote???

out of the bottem is soo easy, and when putting it back in, most of the accesories can already be on the engine, therefore you arent trying to fit nuts and bolts and your hands in tight places.... just my .02

They said it was low on oil but I pulled the oil pump out and it looks like it failed to me.
Whether it just went or they were beating the snot out of it, I don't know...

I took mine out from the top, but removed the steering rack, radiator and unbolted the abs pump. Even with the cradle lowered it wasn't so easy by my self. A load leveler for the hoist helps.

That would actually make sense. Unfortuantely I was not driving it when it siezed, it was at a shop and they were "test driving" it after the long tube headers install.

It's hard to take it out the bottom when you have to get the car out of the garage
