Default What heads on a budget 5.3...706's or 241's?

What heads would you run on a budget build 5.3 with a LS1 hot cam & bolt-ons?

Option 1 - 241's milled .035"
Option 2 - 706's milled .0??" w/ 2.00 valves

I want to find the best balance of air flow and compression ratio, thanks.

you can get new 243's from Patriot pretty cheap. they can mill them, too. I paid $275ish for a replacement head after my motor dropped a valve. That was milled .020", with valves and springs (LS2 springs)

243's would be ideal, but out of the budget.

Used 241's can be found for $100, where as used 243's are around $400-500.

Why not the stock 5.3 heads? They are smaller chamber than all those.

I would just mill the 5.3 heads 0.030 and have a good valve job done. I wouldn't go thru the expense of having them cut for the 2.0 valves. If they aren't ported just swapping to the larger valves will yield very little gain in flow.
