Oh yeah ? Well due to the price difference I switched from GC to that Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 and noticed a substantial drop in oil pressure also noticed at idle in hot weather my 2002 LS1 pressure would wobble erratically . Even though the oil only had about 2000 miles on it I immediately changed back to GC and a tall K&N . My oil pressure shot back up at idle in very hot & humid temperatures & I also noticed higher oil pressure at redline too . I'll never go back with anything else as long as GC is available .

I used to run Vavaline Vr1 racing oil coventional in my old small block 400 in my iroc but my 02 which i bought with 30k on it from old man told me he ran penzoil 10-30 which sucks but he told me he never drove it that his wife mainly did and she was like 78 years old and half blind , dont forsee any damage unless the old ***'s took it to the track sunday afternoon. But any way my oil pressure at idle is well over 40 psi with GC when i got the car I switched to mobil 1 and it never got past 40psiwith engine hot at idle.

Out of curiosity has anyone used this in a their sbc, seems everyone has used them in their lsx, but few reports on how they do in the older engines. I would definitely like to know though as last time I bought GC for my engine I got **** from the auto zone guy and some random *** customer lol.

This is what the bottle looks like. It clearly says made in germany on the back. You might have to dig around on the shelf as the autozone I found it at had it mixed in with the regular stuff.

well here are my thoughts. i ran mobil 1 in my ls1 and it would sit on the first white line once it got really hot. i also used fram tough gaurd filters. and like previous posters, i also had oil consumptionl. i felt daring so...i decided to try the castrol syntec 5w30 and i ran an ac delco filter. my oh my my thoughts where changed i love the castrol my oil preasure sits at 40 or above its great and the delco filter 2500 miles and the oil still is amber. great stuff and it runs quieter dont get piston slap nothing its great

O ya and ran it twice in my brothers 392,000 miles S10, also with the 4.3. Didn't test his tho. SHe didn't use hardly any in 5,000 miles, don't know how. (knock on wood)

I bought mine at ABC autoparts dont know if they are a national chain or just local east texas area , the main thing to look for is the european formula on the front and if cant find it ask a manager at autozone or pep boys to look in there order book and get it there and keep it there let them know they will earn your business by getting it , it obviously is not a hot seller for them so there is know incentive for them to let it take up shelf space.

It won't do you any good, Autozone uses the same SKU number for both the German formula and the USA formula, the only way to know for sure is to examine the writing on the bottles. If you have them special order it - you won't know till it arrives which version it is.
