Just wanted to throw this out there, I just switched from mobil to GC 0-30 and I will say my motor has never been so quiet and my oil pressure at operating temp is great compared to mobil 1 considering where I live in Texas it is HOT so I said all that to say this if you ever thought about it do it make the switch.

My oil analysis are so good on the GC that I brought 47 quarts with me when I moved from Corpus Christi a couple of years back.
I'm still getting good UOA reports back at 6000 mile oil change intervals.

Some engines are going to like different oils. Mine drank M1 5w30 like water. Tried the GC for 2 changes, a little quiter, but it wasn't any more pressure and it still drank it. My last 2 changes are with 10w40 RP XPR, and the engine quited down, I add MAYBE half a quart every 5k miles between changes.. it just feels smoother. It is a higher mileage engine, so no doubt the clearances have gotten a tad larger over time, and the thicker oil was welcome.

I was going through m1 one quart every 1500k and when really hot like 100 degrees plus outside with 80% humidity which makes it feel 130 my car at a red light might have 10 psi oil pressure now stays over 40psi all the time and MUCH quieter.

I switched from the M1 10W30 the previous owner was using over to GC and was REALLY impressed with it. It made the car way quieter and ran smoother as a result. Had a tad more oil pressure also. The friendly neighborhood autozone had it in stock too. Had to dig through all the 0W30 to find it and they had 6 quarts and it was on sale for $5.19.
Question for you guys. If the car is sitting for 2 and a half months would you change out that oil? It was run MAYBE a total of 100 miles on the new oil.

Yeah I have a stockpile of GC 0W30 at my house too Patmon tested out Penzoil Platinum and said it is very good oil too, and quite a bit cheaper so I will probably go with that when the GC runs out.

My h/c TA drank the Supertech Synthetic 5/30. I just switched to Valvoline 10/30 too see what happens. Patman was an oil researching freak and used to hang out on bobistheoilguy dot com. I may go back to the GC if others have experienced oil consumption that stopped after going to GC as I was using 1 quart every 1200-1500 miles.

The new Penzoil Platinum is actually a very good oil which has done exceptionally well in used oil analysis with the LS1. You're going to have a real hard time finding people to agree with you that it sucks.
