hey guys, last night i finished up my cam install, every thing went back toghter smoothly with no porbs. the car started up eaisly and idles pretty good for being untuned and also suprisinly drives realy well. thye only problem is that the oil pressure seems to be low, idles @750 and oil pressure is around 20psi. when crusing at 2k rpms, pressure is about 40psi, but i also notice a couple of when i start it up, the pressure will sit at zero for about 30secs. is this normal?
thanks,
chad

Did you replace the oil pump? If not you need to go with the ported and shimmed LS6 oil pump. Also no that is not normal for it stay at 0 for 30sec. Shouldn't stay there no longer than a sec after you crank it. When its cold the oil pressure should be over 40psi and at WOT should be almost pegging the guage. I dont think I would be drivign the car until you figured that one out. Bc if your not careful you will tear up the bottom end.

if you removed the tube at all you might of pinched or not properly seated the O ring which is sucking in air and causing low oil pressure. continue driving car like this and youll ruin the motor

so you left stock timing chain in place then? now your having low oil pressure after cam install? how was oil pressure before cam went in? wonder if you knicked the bearings installing the cam.
i dont think your oil pressure will be fixed by a new oil pump

you probalty didnt drop the pan, and remove the little 10mm bolt on the pickup. So The Oring didnt get touched. If you just loosened the pump off the block and didnt remove it. Theres probally a piece of trash between the block, and pump, or a burr form wiggling stuff around. Thats leaking pressuer
