H/C swap no oil pressure
Just finished my H/C swap turn on the car an waited for 5 seconds there’s no oil pressure, don’t know what to do? Please help! New TSP oil pump.

Its either:
1. Bad oil pump (yes I see its new-it can still be bad)
2. Left out the O ring for the pump-pickup tube
3. Pinched the pickup tube O ring during assembly.
4. Oil level is too low.
5. Broke the OP sending unit.
Its probably #3 or #5.

the engine has oil. i'll double check the oil pressure sending unit but all i did was unplung the sending unit did not removed it. how will i know that the oil pump is bad? last thing is to pull the front cover and recheck every thing.

Did any coolant get down the cylinder bores, because dex-cool will eat engine bearings alive. I wiped the ones in my car the first time i pulled the heads, it was so fast it mad my head spin. But thats worst case, most likely the oil pump to a crap on you. I would use a mechanical guage and turn the motor over a few times to see if it builds some pressure. Unless the o-ring is completey gone you should have some oil pressure.
