Why the polluter?

Why the polluter?
First off, I'm not saying the cam is good or bad. I don't care. My question is:
Why do I see so many posts where people are saying it's a good cam? From what I can find, I see no track results from it, and very few people using it. And it's coming from a relatively new - yet exciting - shop. So why the hype? Are that many people mindless lemmings, swayed by the advertising on the board? Or is there some real-world, track data that I'm missing? The name of the cam is great. Now I'd love to see the results.
Thanks.

i think it's funny to see all of the hype over different cams. in a stock head, stock ls6 intake engine the 240* duration cams on a 112 lsa are all going to perform within a few whp of each other. lg had it pinned 5? years ago with the x3 on a 112. oh well, continue with the typical ls1tech hair splitting fashion.

And I'm actually serious about it. Why are people saying it's great when they've seen no track times?

the reason why is because there are a lot of people on here are nut swingers who dont really know any better. If shop A says its the ****, well it must be. Reminds me of the supplement industry. You get all these dumbasses reading IronMan and MuscularDevelopment, believing all the supplement adds and taking all kinds of snake oil bull ****.
There is no magic camshaft grind. You would be better off getting a custom grind matched to your setup, than one with an advertising campaign behind it.

Most cams of big duration as we all know lose torque on the bottom end and from what I saw on an earlier thread the polluter does not lose its torque on the bottom end as bad. I didn't see a dyno graph or anything so I could not see it for myself. I think like what was said earlier you are better off just getting a custom grind spec'd out or just choose very carefully of the off-the-shelf grinds.

I'm thinking about becoming a sponsor and then marketing my NEW Thunder Stick cam. The specs will be 22x/22x (see 224/224). This will make any car a beast, and retain stock driveability!!!!!!!!!!! **** it I guess everyone has to make a living, so I'm not going to hate, but I think its funny how people jump on these "new" cam bandwagons. There are probably 3 or 4 cams on the market already with similar specs (MS3/4 G5x3/4).

Primer nailed it. Everybody wants the "new" cam w/ the "cool" name so they can tell their friends about it. Glad I didn't go any bigger than I did when I bought my cam, even though I could have had something w/ a sweet name that sounded fast.
On the other hand, shops are not in the wrong by tagging certain specs w/ their own name. Helps identify the cam...and sell it.

The intro thread for it seems like its a BIG cam that will not need the pistons fly cut and will not loose the lower end torque like usual.
Personally Ill need to see more then just one car with the cam in it. It does seem interesting though to see ALL the cams out that are basically the same yet perform so different.
